Hotel La Villa Douce Voilier

An iconic nautical event on the French Riviera, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is the premier sailing event on the Mediterranean coast. First organized in 1999 by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, these regattas perpetuate a maritime spirit that blends tradition, elegance, and conviviality.

Each year, nearly 250 boats gather on the same stretch of water, offering a unique spectacle: classic sailboats, some over a century old, traditional yachts, maxi-yachts, and ultramodern vessels sail together in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This rare coexistence of maritime heritage and innovation is what makes the event so special.

On the water, the regattas offer spectacular races, driven by sporting excellence and respect for maritime values. On land, the atmosphere is just as exceptional: entertainment, socializing, parties, and the lively port setting the rhythm of life in Saint-Tropez throughout the event.

Enjoy boat trips with Vedettes des Îles d’Or departing from Cavalaire.

Visiter la Commanderie de Peyrassol

Located approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes from La Villa Douce, in the upper Var region in Flassans-sur-Issole, the Commanderie de Peyrassol is a must-see destination for lovers of wine, art, and Provençal landscapes.

Founded in the 13th century by the Knights Templar, it is now considered the most historic vineyard in Provence.

The estate covers nearly 950 hectares of unspoiled nature, dotted with oak trees, olive groves, and 90 hectares of vineyards, offering a spectacular setting at the foot of the Massif des Maures. Once a stopover for pilgrims on their way to the Holy Land, the Commanderie retains its vocation of hospitality and contemplation.

Today, a visit to Peyrassol is above all an immersive experience. Upon taking over the estate, Philippe Austruy breathed new life into it, creating a dialogue between contemporary art, heritage, and viticulture.

The park of monumental sculptures, freely accessible during visits, constitutes one of the finest open-air collections of contemporary art in Europe, to be discovered during a stroll through vineyards and forests.

La Commanderie is also a privileged setting for wine tasting: rosés, reds, and whites from the prestigious appellations of the Var region, to be savored in an elegant and tranquil atmosphere.

To extend the experience, it is possible to have lunch on-site, in the heart of the estate, and fully enjoy the Provençal art of living, a blend of gastronomy, nature, and culture.

An ideal day trip, combining an artistic stroll, a wine tasting experience, and sensory delights, during a stay in the Var.

Visiter la Chartreuse de la Verne

An hour and twenty minutes from the hotel, in the heart of the Massif des Maures, enveloped by forest and silence, the Charterhouse of La Verne emerges like a well-kept secret. Perched on a rocky promontory, it seems timeless, almost unreal. Today, part of the monastery is open to the public.

There, visitors can discover the gatehouse, the bakery, a monk’s cell, and the 12th-century Romanesque church, the only space shared between visitors and nuns – in mutual respect and silence.

A visit to La Verne is not just about seeing a monument. It’s about offering yourself a moment of respite, a break from the hustle and bustle.

Visiter abbaye du Thoronet

Just an hour and twenty minutes from the hotel in the upper Var region, nestled in a verdant valley, Thoronet Abbey offers a striking vision, quite close to what a Cistercian monastery was like in the Middle Ages.

Within its walls, it has preserved certain features related to the daily life of the white monks: a monumental gatehouse, remains of the guesthouse, and courtyards and walled gardens. At the heart of this “city,” the church, with its pure lines, and the cloister, with its stark and austere elegance, are architectural masterpieces.

Visiter Hyères

A city of art and history with a unique charm, Hyères captivates with its Mediterranean atmosphere and Italian influences, a blend of ancient heritage, contemporary creation, and unspoiled nature. Located on the coast and facing the Îles d’Or (Golden Islands), Hyères offers remarkable cultural and architectural diversity.

The medieval old town invites leisurely strolls through its narrow streets, past its ramparts, shaded squares, and panoramic views of the sea and salt marshes. A true artistic hub, Hyères is also world-renowned for the Villa Noailles, a masterpiece of modernist architecture and a leading center for contemporary creation, fashion, design, and photography.

The La Banque Museum, housed in a former bank building in the city center, complements this cultural offering with a demanding artistic program, while the Art Trail punctuates the city with contemporary works accessible to all.
